Well, let me show you how to create a better RAW file straight from the camera and thats before you even go near an adjustment slider. This screencast may just change your life? Ok I exaggerate! The performance preferences in Photoshop CS4 are one of these things that you only need to setup once. Get it right and Photoshop runs smoothly and is a joy to use. Get it wrong! and Photoshop becomes a sluggish beast from which all your pixels will slowly be spat back out at you.

The file handling side of the Photoshop CS4 preferences is pretty much a set it up and forget about it kinda thing. However don’t think its not useful. If you do not move files between other pieces of software much. This is where you can lower the size of a file without compromising on quality.

The interface preferences have probably had more visits than ever before with Photoshop CS4. The introduction of the tabs system really was disliked when it first came out and a lot of users wanted to know how to switch it off. Personally I am getting used to working with it. But its nice to have the option.
